Your Life Won’t Change Until Your Patterns Do

Peace, soul family!
We all have things we want to change.
Maybe you want better relationships. More money. Better health. More peace. A different career. Stronger boundaries. A completely different life.
And wanting something different is easy.
Hell, sometimes we want it BAD.
But eventually, there's a question we have to ask ourselves that isn't nearly as fun:
What am I doing differently?
Because you can want a different life with your whole heart and still keep making the same choices that created the one you're trying to leave.
And whew.
That's where accountability comes in. 😂
Sometimes the Pattern Is You
Before anybody gets offended, hear me out. 😂
Accountability doesn't mean everything that has ever happened to you is your fault.
It doesn't mean you caused somebody to hurt you.
It doesn't mean circumstances outside of your control don't exist.
And it damn sure doesn't mean we blame ourselves for somebody else's behavior.
What it does mean is being willing to look at the parts that actually belong to us.
Because sometimes the situation changes...
but we don't.
Different relationship. Same dynamic.
Different job. Same boundary issues.
Different year. Same financial habits.
Different opportunity. Same fear talking you out of taking it.
Different person asking too much of you. Same version of you saying yes when you really mean no.
At some point, you have to stop looking only at what's happening around you and start asking:
What keeps repeating—and where am I in the repetition?
That's not blame.
That's information.
Familiar Doesn't Always Mean Healthy
One of the hardest things about recognizing patterns is that they don't always feel like patterns.
Sometimes they just feel like you.
That's just how I am.
That's the kind of person I'm attracted to.
I've always been like this.
People always do this to me.
Things never work out for me.
But sometimes what we've accepted as personality, preference, or just the way our lives go is actually something we've practiced so many times that it became familiar.
And familiar can feel safe even when it's hurting us.
That's why changing a pattern can feel uncomfortable as hell.
You might finally set a boundary and immediately feel guilty.
You might meet somebody who doesn't activate the emotional roller coaster you're used to and wonder where the “spark” is.
You might finally have a quiet season in your life and start looking around like...
Okay, what the fuck is about to happen? 😂
Nothing.
Maybe nothing is about to happen.
Maybe you're just not used to peace yet.
Awareness Is Where the Pattern Starts Losing Power
You can't change something you refuse to see.
And you can't change something you're committed to explaining away.
That's why self-awareness matters.
Instead of:
Why does this ALWAYS happen to me?
Sometimes the better question is:
What usually happens right before I end up here?
What did I ignore?
What did I know but talk myself out of knowing?
Where did I abandon a boundary?
What choice did I keep making?
What belief was underneath that choice?
And sometimes the answer is going to piss you off. 😂
Because there are moments when you realize you saw the red flag.
You felt the discomfort.
You knew you were exhausted.
You knew you couldn't afford it.
You knew you didn't want to do it.
You knew something wasn't working.
And you kept going anyway.
I've been there.
I'm sure I'll be there again.
Self-awareness isn't reaching some magical point where you never make another questionable decision.
It's getting better at catching yourself.
Accountability Gives You Your Power Back
This is why I don't look at accountability as punishment.
I look at it as power.
Because if absolutely everything happening in my life is somebody else's fault, somebody else's decision, somebody else's behavior, or something I have absolutely no influence over...
then what the hell am I supposed to do about any of it?
I'm stuck waiting for everybody else to change before my life can.
No thank you.
Accountability lets me ask:
What part of this can I actually do something about?
Maybe I can't control what somebody else chooses.
But I can control whether they continue having access to me.
Maybe I can't undo the money I already spent.
But I can look at my finances today.
Maybe I can't change how I treated my body for the last ten years.
But I can decide how I'm going to care for it now.
Maybe I can't change the opportunity I talked myself out of.
But I can recognize that fear when the next opportunity shows up.
That's why accountability isn't about beating yourself up.
It's about putting yourself back in the driver's seat.
Knowing the Pattern Isn't Enough
Now here's the part that gets on my nerves. 😂
You can become completely aware of a pattern...
and still repeat that shit.
Knowing better and doing differently are not the same thing.
You can know somebody isn't good for you and answer the phone.
You can know you need boundaries and still say yes.
You can know you need rest and still run yourself into the ground.
You can know exactly what you need to do and still avoid doing it.
Awareness is the beginning.
Action is what interrupts the pattern.
And usually, it isn't one huge dramatic decision that changes everything.
It's a bunch of smaller decisions that don't look very exciting while you're making them.
Not responding.
Going home.
Saying no.
Saving the money.
Going to the gym.
Going to bed.
Having the conversation.
Applying for the opportunity.
Not reopening the door you worked so hard to close.
Doing the boring, uncomfortable, unfamiliar thing enough times that eventually...
the unfamiliar becomes your new normal.
And Yes, This Applies Spiritually Too
Listen. 😂
You can ask Spirit the same question seventeen different ways.
Pull another card.
Watch another reading.
Ask for another sign.
See 1111.
Then 222.
Then a feather lands on your damn windshield.
At some point, baby...
you already got the message.
😂😂😂
Sometimes we aren't asking for guidance anymore.
We're asking for a different answer.
Spiritual guidance can help you recognize the pattern.
It can confirm something you've already been feeling.
It can offer perspective you couldn't see before.
But spiritual guidance isn't supposed to replace your ability to make decisions.
That's part of why accountability matters so much to me within StarGalaxiii.
You can receive all the guidance in the world.
Eventually, you have to decide what you're going to do with it.
Your New Life Is Going to Require New Choices
I think sometimes we imagine transformation as this huge moment.
One day everything clicks.
We become disciplined.
Our boundaries are perfect.
We're healed.
We're financially responsible.
We drink our water.
We meditate every morning.
Our house stays clean.
And suddenly we're this completely evolved human being floating around with our shit together.
Baby, please. 😂
Most change isn't like that.
It's repetitive.
It's catching yourself halfway through an old pattern and choosing differently.
Then doing it again.
And again.
And probably fucking it up somewhere in between.
Then catching yourself again.
That's the work.
You don't have to become an entirely different person overnight.
But you do have to start making choices that the life you're asking for can actually be built on.
Final Word
There are things that have happened to you that you did not choose.
There are circumstances you couldn't control.
There are people whose behavior was entirely their responsibility.
Accountability doesn't erase any of that.
It simply asks:
What belongs to me now?
What can I change?
What can I stop accepting?
What can I start doing?
What pattern am I finally ready to interrupt?
Because wanting something different is the beginning.
Recognizing what keeps getting you the same result is awareness.
Choosing differently is accountability.
And doing it consistently enough to create something new?
That's evolution.
Peace & Blessings,
Star
